SERVICES-
ART, ILLUSTRATION & PATTERN DESIGN
THE WAYS I LICENSE MY WORK AND WHO I CREATE ARTWORKS FOR-
I create artworks for business and personal customers in digital and traditional mediums.
I licence my existing designs in various ways which includes collaborating on art and design projects. Although I love fashion and design a great portion of the time with this industry in mind I also love to see my art used in other other industries like home decor, stationary and more. To date my work has been licensed to be used on products like clothing and calendars to large scale window displays.
You can license an existing design of mine in a Non- Exclusive or Exclusive capacity or seek a Custom design. I even offer “TESTER” licenses for micro-business who license designs to print on fabric by the metre to make products for their business.
Ongoing usage terms (Lifetime Exclusive) on designs without a full buyout is possible, which means I retain copyright and my name is associated with the design but your brand is the sole user of the design.
I do also take on personal commission requests when I have the time in digital or traditional format as well as business commissions/projects. (Paper, canvas etc.) I also consider requests for my original traditional artwork to be developed into a surface design by another business on a case by case basis.

PRICING FOR LICENSING- (EXISTING DESIGNS)
This does vary-
My pricing will be based on the type of license, design complexity, the intended use/volumes of end product, the industry and the duration of the license etc. (Starting at 12mths as standard.) I do have some starting price examples below (as I know it is frustrating to not see any pricing myself when I am perusing a website) but please reach out for a proper quote based on your requirements as there is a lot to consider when pricing which can affect the final quote.

These are flat fee examples but please read on to see other examples of fee structures that could be tailored to your requirements.
* Non-Exclusive (existing digital design: Illustrations & Patterns) licenses starting at *$250.00 for micro-business.
* Exclusive (Existing digital design: Illustrations & Patterns) licenses starting at *$350.00 for Industry Exclusive for micro- business.
*Custom Design-
Please note-Although pricing is tailored based on various factors (Industry, Business Size, Volume of product, complexity of design) some starting pricing examples are noted below as a guide-
Examples for Fashion Industry-
Fashion Micro-Business Custom Illustration- *Starting at $600.00 for long term usage.
Eg- Micro-business seeking a design to use on T-Shirts to sell in their store.
Fashion Micro-Business Repeat Pattern- *Starting at $650.00 for long term usage.
* Starting price examples for Non-Exclusive & Exclusive usage for a “Micro-Business “ would be for a business who is producing lower volumes of product on the lowest scale. Eg- could be less than 500 units.
**Limitations on units do not apply to custom design licensing for ongoing use but expected lifetime units will be factored into base pricing.
TESTER LICENSE- (Only applies to Non-Exclusive design licensing)
I have also just introduced a tester license as a trial (May 2024) for micro-business. This shorter license is for those who will be using the design license to print on fabric and would like to test the market for a smaller fee and limited printing capacity. Eg- You would print no more than 10 metres to produce your sample products to test your customer base. The license would be valid for *4 active months only and be a low entry cost. (Not inclusive of the time it takes your printer to get the fabric to you.)
If you decided to extend the license into a full non- exclusive license you would receive a 10% discount on the remaining portion of a standard Non-Exclusive license fee. This is a great way to test the design or for those who sell accessories and may not need to print at a high volume. There is no obligation to take out a full license but usage terms for a “tester” license remain in place and are capped as noted.
* Only applicable for businesses that print designs on fabric by the metre and then make finished products through their business. The cost for this license is $50.00.
OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT LICENSING PACKAGES/PRICING-
For ongoing business relationships (Multiple design license purchases at once or on a regular ongoing basis) reduced pricing may be possible.
Non- Exclusive & Exclusive Licensing can be established as an upfront fee for the set term payable on receipt of file or in some circumstances can be based on a part fee, part commission/royalty per product sale agreement. In some circumstances I will consider royalty only payment terms.
Licenses for Non-Exclusive and Exclusive designs are not able to be purchased for flat fee/set term conditions for companies selling fabric by the metre. This would usually need to be a royalty/commission per metre agreement.
MY DEFINITIONS OF WHAT I OFFER WITH REGARD TO LICENSING-
NON - EXCLUSIVE-
This is where you select an existing design from my portfolio which is a more cost effective option than Exclusive or Custom design licensing.
A Non-Exclusive license means that the design can be licensed to other companies whilst you are using it and at times that may mean within the same category. In any event copyright always remains with me for the duration. The design may also be available on fabric being printed by the metre at the same time you have a current license in effect. The license however gives you the freedom to choose the printer you wish to use and there is no cap on how much printing or product production occurs during the license period.
The license can be renewed at the end of the term, lapse or be renegotiated.
EXCLUSIVE-
This could be an existing design of mine that you would like to use within your industry or more broadly. This means that no one else can use it at the same time that you have a license in place within your industry, location and or at times at all, for the specified time. This usage attracts a higher license fee and the amount will depend on what type of exclusive license you require and the design in question. This type of license costs more than a Non-Exclusive license.
CUSTOM DESIGN-
This is where a design is created especially for you to use exclusively for a set license term or on a permanent basis. (Similar to a buyout but the copyright remains with me as the designer.)
This is a more expensive licensing option but will assist your business to stand out as the design is created especially for you and you know that no one else has access to it. The price for a custom design is higher than exclusive (existing design) licensing as the design is created according to your brief but you also have the right to be the sole user of the design and it does not revert back into my portfolio for use when the license ends or the contract could involve ongoing permanent usage.
NOTE-There may be instances in which you are seeking a design like a “quirky fish kind of pattern” of which I do not have such a design in my portfolio. If you don’t require ongoing usage rights and are happy that after a set term the design is able to be used by others a lesser fee may be negotiated for this type of custom work.
CHANGES TO EXISTING DESIGNS REQUESTS-
Have you seen a design you love that I have already created but would like to see a few changes colour wise before you license it? I am happy to discuss queries like this and provided they are not complex requests can amend with no obligation or cost other than the standard licensing fee if you decide to proceed.
CUSTOM BUSINESS ART PROCESS-
Payment arrangement for custom artwork for business will be established on provision of initial quote. Usually a 30% payment is made to commence custom work with remaining amount finalised prior to receipt of files. The updates of artwork process may be more regular and will be discussed in initial interactions as to what each parties expectations are as I find these vary. With flat fee art licensing for Exclusive & Non-Exclusive works payment is required prior to provision of files. A contract will also need to be signed prior to first usage.
COPYRIGHT-
Ownership/copyright is maintained by Angela Watson of Antayjo Art. Angela maintains her right to sell or license the design to other parties or for her own usage when licenses lapse unless the design contract states ongoing usage terms.
BUYOUTS-
I am open to discussion on a case by case basis and do not rule out full buy outs, however as my work is quiet distinctive it often means copyright retention makes more sense for both parties. This is why I consider permanent exclusive usage rights on custom designs for a higher fee whilst retaining copyright rather than a set licensing time requiring renewal. I will not use the exact design myself, nor would any other business but the design can not be claimed as “your” design in terms of copyright despite being the only business with access to it.

I love working with other like minded brands!

It may be that you are bringing out a new stationary line, sell slow fashion or create jewellery, whatever it may be don’t be shy as my design style lends itself well to many industries.
I have also researched and test printed a number of different products for my own sales purposes over the years and have insight into what works and what doesn’t so can bring some insider knowledge when it comes to knowing suitable printers and specifications for printing gained from trial and error.

PERSONAL ARTWORK COMMISSION PROCESS-
Once a quote is accepted a deposit is paid for work to formally commence (depending on the type of commission and the amount of artworks that make up the commission this can vary between 30% to 50%) at which time you will be added to my commission list and advised of an approximate completion time.(Timeframes are usually 4-6 weeks but lesser timeframes can be negotiated if there is a looming deadline.)
The remaining payments can be made after work has commenced and a draft concept has been supplied and agreed upon. If requested, progress photos will be provided prior to the second payment or if not required one final payment can be made on completion based on the total remaining after deposit. Postage costs are seperate to the artwork quote and will need to be paid prior to artwork being sent.
If a commission is cancelled after work has commenced and supplies purchased for your particular work only a partial refund will be supplied to the purchaser.
In the unforeseen event that I have to cancel a full deposit refund will be provided.
TYPES OF PERSONAL COMMISSIONS-
ILLUSTRATIONS-
Pricing for digital or traditional custom illustration varies dependent on use, terms complexity and materials used. (See below for personal drawings pricing.)
Personal Custom Digital illustration- starts at $200.00.
Eg- T Shirt Designs for Hens Party for personal use only.
* Please note I also consider creating custom patterns for limited personal use. (Pricing on application.)
Eg- You want a custom design so that you can have a sewist make outfits for your family.
TRADITIONAL ARTWORK COMMISSIONS-
Pricing for works vary based on size, subject, materials used and time taken to complete the work.
I currently take commissions in my style and themes for-
1. Drawings on high gsm papers (Pricing for small A5 detailed works start at $120.00)
2. Paintings on canvas (Pricing for small detailed works start at $300.00)
* I am currently not taking mixed media fabric & embroidery works as personal commission but am open to enquires of a business nature.
PLEASE NOTE- I am not currently taking commissions for personal wearable hand painted artwork at the current time due to a focus on other areas.
* I no longer take personal boot art commissions for hand painted pieces, only business collaborations for display/ promotional purposes.
I do however license my digital designs to be printed onto textiles that can be made into footwear.
I am also currently not taking personal art commissions for painted faux leather jackets as I focus on licensing designs in the wearable art space.

Pricing for these items vary dependent on the product detailed but base pricing for adult measurements is as follows- (as at 1st July 2023 & subject to change.)
Jackets- $350.00
Boots- $300.00
(Pricing above is for personal commissions not business.)
* Includes basic biker style jacket.
Any requests for specific designer brands considered on a case by case basis (not all base materials are suitable) and price will be adjusted accordingly based on the type requested.
* Jacket detailing on back middle panel area only.
Additional areas are subject to additional cost.
* Postage is in addition to above.
* Shipping domestically within Australia and to the United States at the current time.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE-
My work is detailed so I do not accept commissions for minimalistic work. (Plain, very limited palette etc.)
